Easy editing in Command Prompt Window
If you are a power user or some one who wants to appear geeky, you would prefer to use the Command Prompt window for various tasks. Working on Command Prompt is much faster than the usual way. However, by default, editing the text (say copying, pasting etc) are not trivial.
There is an easy way to change the editing functionality in Command Prompt similar to that in other graphical text editors. You can directly select and paste text without going through Edit -> Mark -> Select.
Follow these steps.
- Open Command Prompt
- Right click on the Title Bar and select Defaults
- Under the ‘Options’ tab, select the ‘Quick Edit Mode’ checkbox
- Click OK and now try editing on the command prompt window
