Find the ‘Up Time’ in Windows

Published by rakshit at 11:53 pm under Tips Edit This

These days almost all computers run 24×7 and sometimes it might be interesting or important for some administrative purposes to find the up time of the machine (i.e. the time elapsed since the last reboot). In Windows this is pretty easy and is possible in two ways.

To find the up time in graphical way, open the Task Manger (right click in the task bar and select ‘task manager’ ). In the Windows Task Manager window, select the ‘Performance’ tab. Under this tab you can find the System Up time (just look for it!)

If you want to appear more intelligent you can use the command prompt to determine the up time. Open the command prompt and type ’systeminfo’ This will give a few details of the system which also include the up time. Unlike the graphical method, here you do not get the actual up time. It will show the last time the computer was started and you have to calculate the up time, but then you wanted to appear intelligent!
